Day 22 of #30daysofcoding, said in the Big Brother tone of voice (why that is running through my head I do not know maybe coding for 22 days straight is effecting me). Today we are making our comments Disqus, which is a useful feature as the commenting system is one of the most important features on a blog, therefore you want to make it as easy as possible for your visitors. Disqus allows people with a Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo or Disqus account to comment on your blog therefore widening the range and amount of people able to comment on your blog. Along with this it also helps create a greater sense of community. Basically Disqus equals win win win for all.
So let’s get started!
First start by signing up to Disqus:
Enter in your site’s details:
Follow the steps to making your comments Disqus for WordPress:
As the instructions say search for the Disqus Plugin by selecting ‘Plugins’ then ‘Add new’ and search, install the ‘Disqus Comment System’ plugin:
Once installed select comments in the left hand side and chose your website:
You should then get this message:
You may have to wait an hour or so for Disqus to confirm it:
If you check out where your users can comment now on your blog you will see it has the Disqus interface instead:
DAY 22 COMPLETE!
Leave a comment with any questions or to submit your progress and make sure to check out the blog tomorrow and see what has changed!
